These members of a Singaporean cultural group were photographed in the streets of Lower Hutt, near Wellington, in 1993. Choy Yien Chow (left) is dressed as a Chinese general. Lim Chin Chooe is in traditional Malay clothing, and Thamizhvana Narayanasam wears an Indian costume. They demonstrate the diversity of Singapore’s ethnicities.
