The 1932 health stamp featured a half-naked depiction of Hygeia (also spelt Hygieia), the ancient Greek goddess of health and cleanliness, reclining on a pedestal and raising a goblet of medicinal wine to the sky, while the sun rises behind her. At this time half of the proceeds of health stamps went towards children's health camps – over time this percentage has decreased.
