Maori woman in a studio portrait, reclining with vines of flowers going from her head down the shulder and into her lap. She is wearing a feathered cloak across one shoulder with the other arm on her head. The mount board is cream. Sarony Studio were at their Newton premise from 1897-1901 when this picture would have been taken. Photographers marks on mount board read: Platinotype, Sarony, Newton, Auckland, N.Z. Sarony studios were in business in Newton Auckland between 1897-1901
