Under the caption 'Labour wants equal seats for women' the cartoonist presents twelve toilets, six with the seat up for men and six with the seat down for women. A pun on toilet seats and parliamentary seats. In the proposal to be discussed at the Labour Party annual conference for equal representation of both sexes, that there be a 'Man Ban' on certain electorate seats, open only for women candidates, had made news in the media.
