The little human figure carved-in-the-round on the top of the shield represents the ancestor who formerly would have been revenged on a raid in which this shield would have been used. Below it a vertical row of 3 squatting human figures with opened arms and legs are seen from the front. Each of them represents a relative of the figure on top of the shield. No details available about sculptor nor names of the ancestors.
