- Description
A photograph of the Water of Leith, a small river that runs fourteen kilometres southeast through the northern part of Dunedin and the University of Otago campus to the Otago Harbour. It is also known as Leith River or Leith Stream. The original Māori name for the stream is Owheo, the place of wheo, a chief whose village stood close to it's mouth. A foot bridge can be seen in the mid ground of the photograph.
