A ship's propellor, broken and labelled 'Clifford Bay ferry terminal', lies at the bottom of the sea. on 14 November 2013 the government ended a decades-old idea of sending cross-strait shipping to a facility at Clifford Bay, 30 kilometres south of Blenheim. Instead, the ferries will continue to use the existing facility in Picton. The cartoonist refers also to the loss of a propellor by the inter-island ferry Awatere earlier that month, thus putting the ship out of action, and suggests that...
