Comments on the related article from the Apr 2014 issue of this journal on the indication of Allopurinol for the prophylaxis and treatment of patients with either urate or calcium oxalate stones, and on a Dec 2011 article by Dr Linda Bryant in the 'Journal of Primary Health Care' in which she advises treating the target serum uric acid concentration rather than according to renal function as a safe and effective method.
