The influence of season, gender and sexual maturity on the biochemical composition (moisture, protein, total lipids, triglycerides, cholesterol, phospholipids, free amino acids, glucose and glycogen) of gonads from the endemic New Zealand sea urchin Evechinus chloroticus was investigated.
