Premise of the study: Microsatellite markers were developed from a New Zealand endemic understory tree, Fuchsia excorticata, to investigate factors affecting the mating system. Methods and Results: Using 454 pyrosequencing, 48 microsatellite markers were developed and tested for polymorphism within populations.
