Description

This small map is an example of a hand drawn map used by a junior British officer in planning an attack on a German position during the First World War. It is hand-drawn in black, red and blue ink, on waterproofed cotton, and is drawn to 1:5,000 scale. It includes the locations of Bonar Farm and Dene Farm, in northern France. The map was made by the British Army for the 15th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment ("15 R. War. R." is noted on the map)
