This handmade silk brocade coat was made in Hong Kong in the 1930s for Long Sheung Dong, the donor's father. It is luxuriously lined in fur (possibly fox) for warmth, and was worn at home by Long Sheung like a dressing gown. Dramatic historyLong Sheung's wife Chak Man Kong brought this garment with her to New Zealand in 1941.
