Description

A colour image was printed in the Upper Hutt Leader on 5/4/2000. A civic reception to launch the team had been held in the previous week. Irene had migrated from South Africa in February, and had a teaching job in Upper Hutt. She had felt her first earthquake on the day of the reception. Rex Kirton, as president of the Wellington Rugby Football Club, found it ironic to be launching a netball club.
