Description

The clock had been presented as a prize by a Major Butts (an appropriate name?) in 1893, and first competed for in 1884; by 1888 William Ballinger beat another shooter, also with two wins, and won the 32-kg clock outright. It was passed down through oldest sons until Tim, living in England, returned it to New Zealand, where his sister presented it to the National Rifle Association. A colour image was printed in the Upper Hutt Leader on 18/6/2003.
