Description

Six of the Wairarapa-class railcars, popularly known as 'Tin Hares' and numbered Rm 4 - Rm 9, were built at New Zealand Government Railways' Hutt workshops and entered service in 1936/1937. Rm 5 is owned by Silver Stream Railway Inc. and is currently (2014) being restored by the Pahiatua Railcar Society.
