Description

Maymorn railway station; buildings on the west platform which serviced 'UP' (northbound)trains. The station building seen here has since been demolished and replaced. The photograph was taken early-morning in May 1995 as overnight snow was melting. The section of line on which this station is sited was opened on 3 November 1955, concurrent with the opening of the Rimutaka Tunnel.
