Description

Locomotive Ka-935 hauling a short southbound passenger train on the Silver Stream Railway in January 1995. Built by NZR at Hutt Workshops, Ka-935 entered service in October 1941 as a coalburner. In September 1948 it was converted to burn oil. When built the locomotive was equipped with a 'streamlined' casing on the boiler and smokebox; this was removed in October 1951.
