Description

Da-class diesel-electric locomotive No. 1451 hauling a southbound goods train past the old Wallaceville station in July 1972. The locomotive was built by General Motors Diesel Ltd. of London, Ontario, Canada, and entered service in September 1961. With the introduction of 'TMS' numbers in 1979 this locomotive became Da-541. One of the last Da-class in service, it was withdrawn at Te Rapa (Hamilton) in February 1989
