Description

The occasion was the Ministry of Transport's 50th anniversary, and the residential block for the new facility was under construction. It was intended to keep the capsule sealed for 30 years. A greyscale image was printed in the 'Leader' on April 21, 1987. A May 29, 1984 'Leader' article said a government order would see the college moving to the Porirua Police College early in 1985. However, instead (or later) the college moved to the former Post Office training school, still in Trentham.
