Under the heading 'A bug in the system' a customs officer tells a Queensland fruit-fly "Welcome to New Zealand, sir! We don't x-ray all bags so we rely on travellers to declare any bio-security risks. Do you have anything to declare?' The fruit-fly holds a large bag shaped like a banana and replies "Ah,... no... no... I don't believe I do...". Refers to the discovery of Queensland fruitflies in Grey Lynn, Auckland, and to debate around whether all air passengers' luggage should be x-rayed on ...
