Iron; a Mrs Potts Sad Iron made by Kenrick. This double point design with detachable handle was patented in the United States of America by Mary Potts in 1871. It was sold in sets of three bodies with one handle and a stand. A. Kenrick of West Bromwich in England manufactured it under licence from 1880. The detachable insulated handle was designed to be always cool for ironing
