Photograph; a coloured photograph taken at the Mataura Freezing Works in 1984 of wool puller Allan Blondell. The following further information is from 'Load Out', Southland Frozen Meat Limited's staff magazine, Issue 14, March 1986: 'One of the hardest jobs within the processing plants is wool pulling....The pelts are painted with a mixture of sodium sulphide and lime on the skin side.
