Nicky Gerard bought this macrame waistcoat and the t-shirt in a local op-shop in about 2010. She learnt to macrame in the early 1980s, but says she never advanced to the garment making stage. "The waistcoat is a close fit round the bust but is very easy to wear and has a lovely 'swing' to it. The raffia is very soft and hard-wearing compared to natural jute.
