Observes the debate over whether or not to legalise euthanasia and/or assisted suicide - i.e., the merits of staying with a long-established boundary which provides a bright line and is 'natural', versus the merits of exchanging that boundary for one that is 'arbitrary ... easily crossed and hard to defend'. Illustrates the arguments with a look at the situation in the Benelux countries, where legalisation has occurred.
