Description

The land had been acquired by Coles Myer several years before; now they were no longer shareholders in Progressive Enterprises (owners of Woolworths and Countdown) and were selling the sections marked with street numbers. Foodtown had disappointed the Retailers Association when they decided to withdraw. Later, Foodtown built on parts of sections 25-29, and sections 14-24 became car parking. Printed in the 'Leader' on May 2, 1994.
