Description

This 6.75 ha biological reserve is part of the larger Riverhead Forest, 12 miles NW of Auckland. The reserve is bounded by radiata pine plantations, road and stream which keep out grazing animals and allow regeneration of the forest. The forest consists mainly of regenerating kauri under Leptospermum. Large radiata pine trees are scattered throughout. A species list is appended. (auth)
