- Description
My new home at West Melton has a small patch of planted bush, now about 4 - 6m tall, mostly ribbonwoods and coprosmas and pittosporum. It supports a surprisingly healthy population of native birds including fantail and grey warbler. Old nests of both these species are visible in the branches of the bush and I am looking forward to my first spring here. There seems to be about 6 fantail regularly using the bush as a place to scout for food and shelter.
