George Evald Waldemar Koehler (1863-1938) was born in Prussia 31 July 1863 and came to New Zealand c1876 from Brandenburg, Germany with his parents. They first settled in Foxton but 18 months later moved to Palmerston North. Goerge Koehler worked for Richter and Nannestad’s sawmill and as a librarian for a time. In 1894 he bought land in Terrace End, which he mainly dairy farmed and supplied milk to the town for many years. He married Krisitine Berthlesen in 1887. When he died he left a widow...
