Printed in greyscale in the ‘Leader’ on March 6, 1995. Tony had represented New Zealand in the world championships in Austria in 1989. and had been in the top four in standard class for ten years. Standard-class sailplanes were limited to 15 metres wingspan and 525 kg, and were not allowed flaps to increase lift.
