Description

Track 12 of the 1970 album Songs of Maori heroes, by Upper Hutt kapa haka group Māwai Hakona, 'Tenei au' has words by Te Oka (Jock McEwen) and a tune based on a Tahitian song. The song describes how young people try, without great success, to perform the arts of their ancestors and how they ask their elders to help them.
