New Zealand was the first country in the world to adopt surf break protection within its resource management policy framework.Surf breaks are now specifically provided for under the New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement (NZCPS) 2010. It is anticipated that there will be a period in which councils transition from the NZCPS 1994 in implementing the new national requirement. This will be reflected in regional and district council policies and plans through review of currently operative documents....
