Description

Showing developments in Aviation: An aeroplane known as the biplane fitted with a machine gun. The usefulness of the aeroplane as an implement of war is daily becoming more widely recognised. This picture shows the famous English birdman, Claude Grahame-White, carrying a machine gun that was capable of being fired at high speed at any angle. In addition to the pilot's seat there is accommodation for a gunner and an observer.
