Description

Wards 6 and 7, the children's wards, were 66 years old when this photograph was taken in 1976. It shows the steelwork necessary to strengthen the building against earthquakes. Miss Patricia Dunmore, a candidate for the Hospital Board in 1974, was concerned about the condition of the children's wards which were not due to be replaced until 1986.
