German-born Jewish artist Margot Philips (1902 – 1988) began her artistic career only after her arrival in Kirikiriroa Hamilton in 1938. Enrolling in a series of adult art classes, Philips first experimented with landscape painting in the 1950s, rising in prominence as a landscape painter through the 1960s and 1970s., Tempera and crayon on paper, 413 x 536 mm
