Description

All images show a large number of men, women and children, mostly members of Tapu te Ranga Marae, are seen near the stone carving "pou whenua" in the Tawatawa Reserve above the Tapu te Ranga Marae. It is a portrayal of te Rauparaha. Bruce Stewart who commissioned the carving is seen in frames 1 & 8; and the unveiled statue is seen in frame 5. In other images (frames 7 to 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra
