Description

Reclamation work being carried out by the Wellington Harbour Board. Of the 68 acres to be reclaimed, the sea wall frontage will become the property of the board for increased shipping facilities. The balance of the land will be used for a new railway station. Left: Rails along which the motor-conveyor travels, distributing shingle for the foundations of the sea wall. Right: Silt from the Wellington Harbour Board's dredges being discharged on to the reclamation.
