The Church of St. James at Franz Josef Glacier, South Westland, was dedicated by Bishop West-Watson of Christchurch, on 26th April 1931. The top image shows the large gathering present at the dedication service standing outside the new church. The lower image captures the beautiful view from the church grounds including a glimpse of the Franz Joseph Glacier above the traffic bridge across the Waiho River.
