Description

The photograph shows the Taneatua Express passing wreckage near Karaka in Auckland. Eight vans and goods waggons were wrecked and two carriages and a guard's van suffered damage after the derailment of the rear section of a mixed goods and passenger train service. There were no injuries but services were delayed while the wreckage was cleared.
