Description

The Waitaki hydro-electric works viewed from South Canterbury side. Situated on the upper Waitaki river about 3 1/2 miles from Kurow. On completion. Will have a cost of £1,500 000 and will provide electric power for South Canterbury and Otago. On the left: is the powerhouse which was near completion and on the opposite bank of the river is the settlement of Workmen's huts.
