Description

Two schoolgirls, Gertrude Hart and Esme Hunter, lost their lives when a cliff face on the Pakaututu Station slipped away and hurled them 200 feet below. This picture shows the funeral in hastings. The snapshot insert shows the two girls Gertrube Hart (left) and Esma Hunter (centre), while on the right is the latter's younger sister who witnessed the accident.
