Description

An original of the painting by the late Sapper H. Moore-Jones, of Auckland, was recently bought in London for the South Australian government. The original of a very similar painting is still in Auckland. The photograph reproduced on the left was taken in Gallipoli two. days before Simpson, who was attached to the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance, was killed. He and his donkey did valiant work transporting wounded men to the beach.
