Largest gold dredge in world commences operations: opening ceremony at Tucker's Flat, Kanieri, Westland. The dredge was made at the Addington railway workshops for the Kanieri Gold Dredging Company, Limited, and the machinery was set moving by the Minister of Mines, the Honourable P. C. Webb.
