Ili. Fan. This is an ili made of tuaaniu (coconut midrib), kaumoe (immature coconut leaf), and laukie (soft pandanus). The handle of the ili is cylindrical in shape and is made from a bundle of tuaaniu, encased in lalaga (woven) laukie. The tuaaniu are tightly lashed together in a row to form the semi-circular blade. Kaumoe is then used to decoratively lash the blade using zig zag motifs
