- Description
Bill Hamilton was a curious and adventurous small boy who never grew out of his love of speed and invention. He is best known for inventing the Hamilton jet boat designed in the 1950s. Jet propulsion allowed boats to navigate New Zealand’s shallow rivers at high speed. It also provided the kick-start for New Zealand’s adventure tourism activities in the 1970s. Companies like Shotover Jet have been thrilling our visitors and locals ever since, as well as being a worldwide success story.
