This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 08 September 1961 "Facilitating our speedy new telephone service is Mrs. L.M. Davies, our Post Office trained operator, who is ready throughout the day to direct your call to any of the 13 departments. Mrs. Davies has a special sound-proof booth, and is shown here in front of the keyboard from which the calls are directed."
