Description

W Mason, superintendent, Mayor Peter Robertson and Mrs Robertson at the opening of the Main Street site. The building had been moved from Chatsworth Road. Speakers included former Upper mayor A J McCurdy. Silverstream was part of Hutt County; Peter Robertson was mayor of Upper Hutt, and possibly chairman of an upper valley fire board; reference not found. This part of Main Road South became part of Fergusson Drive. The original caption gave W Mason, superintendent, Mrs Robinson - Mayer
