Description

Panorama comprised of three photographs looking west from Point Britomart showing Commercial Bay in the process of reclamation. The view shows Commercial Bay after the seawall, with an intake, had been constructed as part of the reclamation. The foreshore visible in the bay is Fore Street, now called Fort Street. Queen Street wharf is visible to the right. A lithograph of the image appeared on page 473 of the Illustrated London News, 19 May 1860.
