Description

John Barr (junior) third from right. Date late 1910s - possibly 1918. John was the son of Grace and John Barr of 'Beresford', a farm in Kakanui at the southern end of the Kaipara Harbour. His younger brother Neil also attended Auckland Grammar. Historical note: 'Beresford' was a sheep and beef farm of approximately 1000 acres, comprising hill country and reclaimed mudflats about 25 km north of Kaukapakapa in the Rodney District.
