The re-opening of the St Josephs Catholic Orphanage in Taharoto Road, Takapuna by Lord Jellicoe after the fire of 1923. The front face of the building is shown. The wing on the right of the three story building was the original St Mary's College, opened 1849.'After the disastrous fire of 1923, the masonry walls remained standing. They were incorporated into the design of the new orphanage and were plastered over to match the exterior of the new three storey brick and concrete wing to the east...
