Description

View of North Head from Mount Victoria. The first navy buildings on North Head (constructed 1886-89) are not yet present, dating this image to before 1886. The large building on the extreme right is Holy Trinity Anglican Church on the corner of Vauxhall Road and Church Street, built in 1856. The jetty at Torpedo Bay (not present in this photograph) was constructed in 1885-7 and extended in 1897.
